Gung-Ho Fightin' Sojer
Oct 1967 - a war protest song
written while I was in the army

Well, send me please to Viet Nam
I'm a gung-ho fightin' sojer
I've lived my life for nineteen years
And I don't want to get any older

There's a lot of men over there right now
dying for this great land we've got
And as for the vietnamese that die
They don't matter a helluva lot.

There's a lotta people in the United States
Who wear beads and flowers in their hair
We otta draft all them son-of-a-bitches
And bring them over here

Another thing that we could do
'Bout all them vicious dissenters
Is break into their houses some evenin'
And murder them over their dinners

I'm from Alabama, in KKK land
And I don't care who I'm a-fightin'
I'll get some gooks in my M-16 sights
And strike 'em down like I was lightnin'

So, listen to me, you people out there
We've got to win this war
The man in the White House says there are reasons
But I don't really care any more.

I like the war in Viet Nam; Killin's a fun type of game.
And if you was as good a soldier as me, well buddy you'd feel the same.
