...and the stars shine bright
deep in the heart of Texas
but I'm in Kansas.

Again with the waking up at 01:00, this is getting pretty tiresome.

I didn't mention yesterday that I got a call from Social Security... the lady told me that they were putting in overtime 'cause they were so far behind.

She let me know how much I would get and how much I could earn... it's a lot less than I thought it would be, the earning part, I mean... I can't earn more than $1100/month or I forfeit that months' SS payment.

And that's gross earnings... which means that I will be able to work about 30 hours/month... not enough to be of much use to the department, I'm afraid.

And I've got to look at the pay periods, I might not be able to work that last coupla weeks in June, because if I have a full pay period paid in July, I'm screwed.

And I have to find my birth certificate... it's in with my passport... which I haven't been able to find since we moved two years ago. The search needs to be intensified, and I don't feel like doing that, but I will anyway... it could be anywhere.

A little amusement....

The archbishop of Paris' Catholic church decided that the visions that a sixteenth=century 16-year-old girl had of the (heh) virgin Mary was indeed a supernatural event, and that all of the people that went to (whatever French town) to worship and be healed weren't getting screwed by a fake; Nope, they were getting screwed by the very real catholic church, as always.

Well, they did apologize for Galieleo, after all.

Ah, the blindness hurts my brain.

I went to the store shortly after noon and got necessities, I find that I go to Mom's favorite store and not the big corporate one... I just feel better about that, even though they didn't have any oranges today.

Trying to get caught up on e-mail... it's a beautiful day, about 75°F, nice little breeze.

And it's just barely evening, and I'm ready to go to sleep... gotta get out of this cycle, dammit.

I had a major brain-fart this weekend... I misplaced my strips for the glucometer... looked all over yesterday with no luck... and yet again this morning... and then found them in a place that I'd looked twice at this afternoon.

20:11...
So... I've wasted this day.

I did have a very nice steak and baked potato, though. I'm getting pretty good with the skillet on the stove for the steaks, they're as good as any that I've ever done on the grill.

Just watched a special on the public TV station about Greenberg, fascinating weather story.

I'm thinking that our governor, Katherine Sebelius, would make a good VP for Obama... a white female democrat in Kansas? You know that she's tough....
