Goddamnitall anyway.

Three o'clock and I should be snoozing... but I can't get to sleep.

And there's a rough day coming up at work, too. The main computer system is going down at 08:00 and will be down all day for an upgrade.

Which means that we will have to type all of the patient info into the CT machines... not a fun thing. And I'm the one who will be doing the typing, dammit, I'm on the console today.

Hopefully I can get through it....

I have an appointment to get my pacemaker checked and then to see my cardiologist at 13:40, then back to work until 16:30. By that time, JD and Tyler will be here; they've been in Erie, where my ex-father-in-law died last Friday. I was sorry to see him go, I really liked him.

It's really hard most days to smile for my picture, I hope that y'all understand what a sacrifice I make to provide this service, heh....

I'm gonna go take a nice, hot shower and then try to get a nap in before 06:30. As usual, I'll write more here when I get off work, or sometime tomorrow.

20:07...
The day, she was the bitch that I thought that she would be; many things went wrong, work-flow-wise.

As an example, we couldn't print films from the backup server... I fixed that, but then we had a major problem... the backup server was very, very slow... because it didn't have any space. Somebody really blew it on that one.

And the people who wanted films... were outta luck until I finally got it figgered out four hours later. And that's not my job, dammit.

What we had to do was to use our archived images and port them to the backup server (a crippled beast, by this time) and then print them. And then the drivers or the print-server or something went down....

So, we're having this twelve-hour blackout. And it doesn't seem that proper preparations were made. Everyone is mad, of course, at us. It's ***OUR*** images that aren't getting taken care of.

So anyway, I was pissed, as were my co-workers.

But I just called the department, and things are going well now, thankfully.

I had a meeting with my cardiologist after I had the pacer evaluated... Thor is doing well. And everything else looks good, cardio-wise.

And right now, I'm waiting for JD and Tyler to show up, they'll be here about 21:00 or so.

I did get to sleep from about 05:00 until 07:00, when Karen punched me in the ribs at 07:03... I'd been hitting the snoozebar up until then.

So, two hours of sleep in the last 24....

I don't think that I'll stay up too long with the boys when they get here at approximately 21:00....

Sometimes, life just really sucks... but mostly it doesn't. I need to cling to the latter, because the former altitude doesn't help Karen any.
