Daily Nilknarf Haiku

seek wisdom, will you?
wise men, too, die evil deaths;
so just be happy.

It was a lot better day at work, and Karens' appointment with the oncologist was OK, if not exactly overly optimistic.

What he said was... stay on the meds (the pill) that she's on now for another two weeks, then another chest x-ray and a decision.

The chest x-ray today showed no real improvement, but there did appear that there is the beginning of cavitation, which means that the cells could be dying... this is very good news, if it's true. He says that when this medication works, it's like a miracle. The percentages aren't really good, but we need some luck, and now's the time to have it.

I've quit buying lottery tickets, I don't want to use up all of my luck winning 30 million bucks, after all.

After work, we went out to see a lawyer about a will and stuff like that. Boring, but necessary.

And it's later that I though it was, dammit, and I'm tired....
