Daily Nilknarf Haiku

truths are, indeed, hard.
but lies? O them damned lies!
they are much harder.

Not too bad of a day, but a hard time getting up again.

I was on the console today, and it was a good, steady day.

The only black mark on the day was the "free" lunch given to hospital employees... you had to wait in line for at least a half-hour; we were too busy to permit this, and besides, standing up that long would have been hell on my legs and my body in general. I went back downstairs and back to work. I came up later and got a chocolate pudding parfait.

O'yeah, the occasion was hospital week. Whoooeeee! Celebration!

So I took a no-lunch, which was OK, 'cause Karen called about 15:10... she had sold the lift chair, and the lady was going to be back about 15:30. So no OT for me....

The lady didn't get back with her truck until about 15:45, and we loaded the chair up (heavy sonovabitch!) and that was that.

Karen has not been able to eat much lately, but tonight she decided that she wanted a big greasy cheesburger from Spanky's, a bar down the road. She called and I went down and picked them up... delicious, of course.

And that's about all of the news for today. Yesterday should have included the sitting president's visit to Kansas to look at the former town of Greensberg... he said that he'll get it built back up... right after New Orleans, of course.

Dammit, I used to trust the people in power (somewhat)... but that was before Reagan.

I almost didn't write a haiku... but then I did anyway.
