Eh, the hope has been knocked down a little bit, but our chins are still high. I just posted this at 3WA in the good news/bad news (GN/BN) thread, and I didn't want to re-type it... yeah, I sure am lazy! GN: Karen is feeling better. Heh... that actually took about I got ***no*** sleep last night, but it didn't seem to bother me much. I just barely got to work on time, though. And when I got there, I found out that we'd lost the x-ray tube on the main scanner and it was replaced overnight and they were working on the calibration. It was up and going about 10:30, and we hadn't gotten too far behind. Karens' PET was done about 11:00, and I talked with Kim for a while. And then we went up and had lunch and went on up to see the doc. Got her all set up with a script for the pills and instructions and then I went back to work and Kim took Karen home and went back to work. The way the pills work is to genetically alter the tumor cells so that they won't devide and then they begin to die. DamnDamnDamn, I hope that it works for Karen! We will go back and have another x-ray in three weeks, and if it looks like it's dying, we're home free... otherwise, it's on to the next course. Man, this roller-coaster ride is doing things to my head that I wouldn't believe was possible....
all to enjoy while we live;
dream culmination.
Kinda GN: The PET was ***almost*** negative.
BN: It wasn't completely negative... she's got a mediasteinal lymphatic met, which was retrospectively there in the first PET.
GN: No distant mets, no bone mets, no liver mets, no adrenal mets.
GN: The oncologist has another concoction; she's not in good enough shape for more chemo, so he's started her on a daily pill which is pretty interesting and has been reputed to cause actual cures (survival >5 years).
BN: It only works on some people...but she's in the group (non-smoker ever, no previous cancers) with the best success rate.
GN: Karen feels better...
as long to transfer it from my other machine as it would have to re-type it.
