My mind is soooo tired! Learned a whole bunch of stuff today, all of it fun, fun, fun! Seriously. We broke about16:00 and we all got on a bus to go to the Redstone Grille... a really expensive, upper-class joint. The meal and the drinks were free, of course. And they even had a smoking patio... I was the only one in the group (about twelve of us) who smoked. After one of my trips outside, one of the girls told me that my glasses were broken. My brand-new glasses! And they were... a nut had come off of the ear attachment. And the next time I went out to smoke... I found the nut and the washer! I was really happy. Yeah, it doesn't take much.... I had a New York strip, and it was excellent. And the company was great, too... a lot of really smart people, of course, most of them techs, but a coupla docs were there too... cardiologists. O'yeah, my butt's tired too, from all of the sitting.... Most of us are experienced users of the system, but the guy sitting next to me started getting bored and doing a lot of cool stuff... and it was hard to concentrate on what the teacher was teaching sometimes. The bus came and picked us up and took us back to the hotel, and I'm gonna call it a night pretty quick here. The plan for tomorrow is kinda the same, but I need to get my stuff put in the truck before the bus leaves; I was thinking that I would drive over to the training facility in the morning, but after going over on the bus today, I know that I would get lost. I'll just pack the stuff up and then take the bus over... everyone else is getting out at the airport, so it'll probably be 17:00 before I get on the road... joy. Just in time for the traffic, heh. But I'll get home tomorrow night, anyway, though it'll be late. If I get too tired, I'll just stop in a motel for the night. Tomorrow will be mostly a review of the cardiac stuff, and then the afternoon will be on peripheral and aortic and trauma angiography. I have used a competitors' system for years, and I've been using this one for about six months, and I'm finally getting to where I feel confident with it and like it. I just can't wait until we start doing the cardiac stuff... the beginning of any new technology is exciting.
