Daily Nilknarf Haiku

mayhem continues;
until the universe ends...
it is just life's' way.

I slept way too late today... mostly 'cause I didn't get to sleep until 03:00 last night. No, I don't know why... I took my pill and everything.

So it was 11:30 before I got out of bed, and it was about 13:00 for Karen. She, however, may be easily forgiven... the chemo, y'know.

We went over to Moms' apartment and moved a buncha stuff... and there's still a buncha stuff left, but it's getting done.

Watched NC getting beaten in an overtime game. The Georgetown team was down 10 when we started watching and had an excellent comeback to tie it up.

Roys' teams don't win in OT, historically.

And then... I was more impressed by a politician than I have ever been before.

We watched John Edwards and his wife on 60 minutes.

There were many things that impressed me about the couple, but the most significant one for me?

No mention of god, no mention of a higher power... just two human beings against nature, with science solidly in their corner.

I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't, at the very least, agnostics.

Again with the boxing analogies... I wonder where that comes from? I was a boxing fan in my younger days, but it's so out of fashion now....

On a completely different subject... I've got this shirt, and it's a really nice shirt, but about a year ago I tore a hole in it a work.

I put a piece of tape behind the rip, and I've worn it ever since.

But the last time that it got washed, the tape finally came off.

So I'm doing something entirely uncharacteristic... I'm gonna throw it away.

And to make sure that I'd didn't back out of that decision, I went ahead and ripped it irreparably.

So the next time that I go out to the shop (one more time tonight) I'll take it off and put it in the trash... or maybe just leave it in the garage for a rag.

And now I'm gonna take some pills and try to get to sleep.
