It was not a good night. In fact, it was a bad night. A very bad night. I went to bed at 21:45, plenty of time to get a good sleep... but I didn't sleep. Something was wrong, but I couldn't tell what it was. Retrospectively, I now know... but didn't at the time. I got up about 23:30 and came upstairs and read until about 01:00, when I thought I could go to sleep. And I did go right to sleep... for about a half-hour. And then the snot attack hit me. It's impossible to breathe with a C-PAP when you're having a snot attack, so I came back upstairs and blew several gallons of snot out of my head. Mostly done with that... I started having diarrhea. O, fun! I went back downstairs about 05:00 thinking that I would get up when the alarm went off and call in. Unfortunately, I snoozebarred until almost 07:00. Then back to bed again, where I slept for maybe an hour and then woke up and laid there for two more hours before getting up. Right now, I don't feel too badly, just like I've been And I need to start drinking water, I don't want to get dehydrated and go all goofy.... Some of the dreams that I had last night in the short times that I was sleeping were about Mom, and she was pissed at both me and brother Dan... seems like I've still got a lot of work to do in that area of my head, heh? It was one of those dreams where you wake up and then go back to sleep and start the dream all over again. But I still needs me some major sleep! Whatever I do, I've gotta be awake at 18:10, when the Jayhawks play in the third round.... 13:00... And I didn't seat it very well over the blade and it slipped... so I now have no eyebrows. I did have one for a while, until I figgered out what was happening. Lopsided thinking is my style, but having a lopsided face? Less my style. Or maybe not. 14:48... I did re-load the original logitech software, and I've got to apologize to them... there is a place (rather obscure, natch) where you can set the size with the software for the camera. I don't know if it was there in the same place on the software that I DLed and ditched.... 15:55... still no sleep O'yeah, and there's the little deal with him not wanting And yes, that is a cat sitting on the back of my chair. He started off on my shoulder, but moved before I could take his picture. That's Raisin, known to the rest of the world as Panther. He likes me a lot more than I like him, I think. And I'm gonna go take a long hot shower and see if sleep will come. 17:39... Today I got a big envelope from the company and opened it up... and it was for an amount 100 times what I thought the policy was. However... it was all made out to another person, a widow (I assume) in another state. Well, darn! So I called the insurance company and helped them get things right, took about twenty minutes. I was also told that it would be two weeks of so before I got the real one. I do hope that the widow get her money soon. And I think that I'll close this out now, I'm gonna watch the game and go right to bed... done with the decongestants, so if I don't have another shot attack I should get a good nights' sleep. These things only seem to occur singularly, and it's not a cold; I'm thinking allergies, but that doesn't really make any sense either. O'well.
the chickens and the dumb eggs
analogies are fun.
run over by a truck. Mostly just very tired and wishing that I could go to sleep, but that's pretty much a lost cause right now, since I've taken some meds to keep the snot from overflowing yet again.
Getting bored with reading but still unable to sleep, I took a load of laundry downstairs and started washing it. While I was down there, I thought of something that needed doing and wasn't intellectually challenging... I got the eyebrow clipper out. It's a little comb-thingie that goes on the blade end of my $10 "personal hair clipper" that I got from Walgreens.
I keep trying to sleep, and the damned phone keeps ringing. I don't answer it, of course, but it does disturb my sleeping efforts.
Interesting that Bush isn't wanting his people to testify under oath... it's just as easy for people, especially in this administration, to lie under oath as it is any other time.
transcripts, too; that way, if they do happen to accidentally tell a lie, nobody will be able to call them on it.
I got a big surprise in the mail today... I had turned in a claim for a very small insurance policy that Mom had taken out in 1962.
