Daily Nilknarf Haiku

days are like water
flowing through my helpless hands
getting my feet wet.

So yesterday I not only forgot to write the haiku, I erased the previous one so that I wouldn't forget it.

We are in the center of a low pressure system that's wreaking havoc in the mid-west and spreading to the east... looks like brother Dan will be hit with some ice within the next coupla hours....

It has rained some today, but it's been sunny a little bit too. I was outside a little bit ago, and the wind was shifting, it's been from the south for the last coupla days.

Heh, I checked again, and there is no wind right now... guess that means it'll be coming from the north next time I go out.

It's kinda like the eye of a hurricane... in fact, it's exactly like the eye of a hurricane; it's just over land and not water. So not nearly so powerful, of course.

Right now, they're forecasting about an inch of snow for us, but the county north of here is experiencing blizzard conditions.

Karen and I cleaned out the refrigerator today... really, really cleaned it out. Took everything out, threw a lot of stuff away and wiped the whole thing down and then re-loaded it.

Most of the stuff to be thrown away resides now in the fridge in the shop, I'm not trusting the weather to stay below freezing until next Friday....

That took about three hours, and tired me out completely.

I had already been over to Mom's apartment and threw away another bunch of stuff... they have this chute for trash, but the bags that I had were way too big for that, so I took them down on the elevator and put them in the bin.

And I brought another coupla boxes home... I'm trying to not overdo it and take my time, now that I've really gotten started.

I got a big bag ready for Goodwill, and there's another big bag's worth left, I'll do that tomorrow... electric blankets and stuff like that.

Mom kept the electric blanket controls in a box, there are five of them... and there are four electric blankets, all with different ends on them. I need to match them up so that they will be of some used to someone.

A Very funny atheist comic strip... http://russellsteapot.com/comics.

Again, outside. When I went into the shop, the wind was from the north, and when I came out fifteen minutes later, it was coming from the west? That would mean that the low has moved to the north more than they expected it to... which might mean that a? we get no snow, or b) we get a blizzard.

I'm comfortable with either a) or b)... and still OK with the former forecast of one inch.

Any way that it goes, it won't make much diference in my life.

We were under a tornado watch earlier... a tornado would make a difference in my life. I would just hope that it was the old (and still unsold) house that got blown away....

I didn't get to sleep until about 03:00 last night, dammit, and I got up at 10:00 or so... but I'm not really sleepy, although I've done more than I usually do on a day off... my legs just hurt more than they usually do on a day off.

I will get to bed earlier tonight and hopefully I won't lay there for hours.
