Tard.

Not from working hard, though... from not sleeping.

Sore, too... not from working hard, either, but from taking a pratfall while working.

It was a very avoidable accident, too, making me feel foolish in addition to being sore.

And it the patient that I was working with hadn't told two of my co-workers, I would not have said anything about it.

I was trying to put an IV in a patient who was still drinking the oral contrast, and she dropped the cup on the floor and a little spilled out. As I was going to get her a gown because she had on a tight-sleeved sweatshirt, I slipped in the liquid, which I had forgotten about... instead of cleaning it up immediately.

She was a hard stick, and I missed twice, once after I had fallen, before I turned it over to a colleague.

I had been doing very well with my sticks up to that point, though.

Anyway, I finally got to sleep this morning about 04:30, and I shut the alarm off immediatly when it rang; then I awoke suddenly at 06:22 for some reason and realized what had happened and hurried on to work, made it in good time.

Karen's last chemo was today, and the nurses presented her with a certificate, a purple heart... cheerful messages written all over it. That was very nice.

I went to the cafeteria about 12:30 to get a sandwich to take upstairs so that I could sit with her while I ate.

I wasn't really happy with my sandwich, and she said that they were going to bring her a chicken-salad one, and I offered her a trade....

The problem was... her sandwich never came, dammit. I assume that whoever was bringing it saw her eating my sandwich so they gave it to someone else... doesn't bother me much, I can readily afford to miss a few meals, heh.

Winter weather advisory tonight, it's been raining all day, and just now it's starting to sleet; we're supposed to have three inches of snow by morning.

And I'm gonna get to bed early.
