I got up rather early after a restless night; Karen would sleep for another hour. Debbie fixed bacon and eggs and toast, a very good breakfast. She asked me how many pieces of bacon I wanted, I told her five or six, and she was astonished. I was used, of course, to hospital and resturant bacon... what she fixed were slabs of bacon... I had three, and was more than satisfied. Kim and Tom got here shortly after noon, and we watched Kansas State beat Texas in a very close game... KSU wasn't ranked, and Texas was ranked #28 in the nation, and have the best freshamn in the nation. But KSU's players were gritty and finally got the lead. Generally, the day was been pleasant and unproductive... just what I've been needing. Tonight, KU plays another Texas team in Austin... that will be a good game too. And I'll watch it if I can stay up that late.... Everyone else is getting ready for the evening meal, I thought that it was ready an hour ago, but I was wrong. Debbie does pretty feasts, with perfectly set places and perfectly prepared food. Kinda like a very expensive resturant, and very nice.... 22:22... Then we watched the last half of the KU-Texas game, damned jayhawks lost in the last five minutes. And it's about bedtime, but Jeff is showing us his pics from Brazil, so I will delay for a while.
Yes, methaphorically...
half the time it's hot.
Very nice supper, Debbie made a meat loaf and after dinner, we sat around and talked for quite a while, and then Chuck opened his birthday presents.
