for anyone who wants to wish Karen a happy 66th birthday... her e-mail address has changed, it's now kar at nilknarf.net... she was getting an atrocious amount of nasty mail and ads at her old one. And yes, that's mostly my fault for not training her right, heh. O'yeah, and her whole eye is getting black, poor girl. It was yet another brain-strain day at work, but I was only there ten hours today. Learning this new machine continues to be very fun... and very draining. I'm looking forward to this weekend, four whole days off! We will be visiting Karen's sister Debbie in Wichita and her brother Chuck will be there too, we haven't seen him for quite a while. Come to think of it, it's been quite a while since I've seen any of them.... After work I came home and puttered around for a bit (I did stop and get Karen some roses) and then went to an Oncology Nurses' meeting, a very good one about monoclonal antibodies tagged with radionucleides to treatment of non-Hodgkin's' lymphoma. Very interesting, and way over my head mostly, but the presenter did a very good job of making this brain-dead (after the day at work) boy understand how they worked. And they served up a very good meal whilst we listened, I had a wonderful filet, done just perfectly. In the meantime, Karen's kids had taken her to the Texas Roadhouse, and she said that she had a great time. And I talked to Mom, she had numerous bites from Sunday's outing, dammit. And I've been getting eaten up by something this last week... not big welts, but with a large erythemic area that itches like hell... in the most inconvenient places, places that you can't scratch in public, y'know? It seems like I have a new one ever coupla days, just as the old ones stop bothering me. I got a crappy night's sleep last night, too... could not get to sleep until about 01:00... not conducive to getting up a 05:30... so I didn't get up until 06:15, snoozebarring along.
