Brain-tard, that's what I am....

I got to work at 06:30 this morning, and I was there until 18:30 tonight... that's twelve hours, if you're counting.

After I did all of the morning stuff the tech rep from GE showed up... and so did a lot of other people.

The other people were our PT techs, covering for us day-time folks while we learned the new machine.

And it's got some disappointing quirks, and some good things about it too, and it's missing some of the features that we're used to... but it's gonna be OK.

This one is a 16-slice model... the 64-slice one will be installed in a coupla months.

And there's a whole lot to learn.

But I think that we'll all have it down by the end of the week.

It'll take us a month, though, to get used to it, I think.

But it's fun, of course, learning is almost always fun. And it's gonna be great to be able to apply this fantastic technology to our patient care.

And learning the 64-slice will be even more fun, 'cause it can do even more fantastic things.

And I was on call tonight and did a coupla patients on the old machine 'cause we don't have the supplies yet for our new injector... and there was no evening guy, he spent the day with us learning the new machine.

About 18:30 there were no more patients to do, so I picked up a pager and headed home, thinking it would be a brief respite.

But no, it wasn't... it was the end of the day for me. Yep, no calls, and the evening guy agreed to take call after 21:00, and that was nice of him.

And I'm not gonna spend much more time awake, I don't think.
