Daily Nilknarf Haiku
Human frailties
drag us down and then kill us;
it's what they do best.

Heh... I usually don't steal lines, but I just loved this one from Rob at The B&H Ranch Journal!

"More reasons to hate America?? How about American Idle? Good god, everybody please stop talking about it. Don't you know Rock & Roll was invented so we wouldn't have to listen to crap like that?"

I've never watched the show myself, and never intend to....

I got a call from both JD and Tyler today, Tyler is doing better but still had a headache, and workman's comp is screwing around with him, as they always do. He still hasn't seen a neurologist, he had an appointment with one and then they called him three days later and said that they don't do workman's comp.

JD is doing well, of course... it's always great to hear their voices.

Had a bitch of a night yet again... I don't take the Lunesta™ when I'm on call... afraid that I wouldn't wake up if the phone rang, and if I do get called I want to have my mind about me. So I don't sleep worth a damn, of course.

Tonight, however, I will take it, consequences be damned... I'm much more dangerous fatigued that I would be with the pills....

And then I have no knowledge of how I would be affected after I've taken one, although I suspect that I would be OK once I got up and going... I've taken them as late as midnight and still got up at 05:30 OK.

So I got called about 08:30 or something like that, got to the hospital and started doing patients... and kept up a steady pace until about 14:00. I'd taken a break about 13:00 to get a sandwich so's I wouldn't keel over with hunger.

And my back, she is OK today, and I'm happy about that.

My right leg, however, is a different story. Hurts from mid-thigh on down, and I'm wondering if I haven't had a sudden increase in the arterial blockage... I'll get that checked out in a coupla weeks with a CT angiogram when our machine is up and running.

I'm really not too worried about it, I'm really good about establishing collateral arterial flow, and it doesn't hurt that bad, just a change from the normal hurt.

And this is gonna be a very early night for me, this next three weeks are gonna be busy.
