And the nice, pristine disk that I spent 50 hours working on (well, *I* didn't, the computer did) still didn't work. So I shall call the number for e-machines and get the recovery disk, I guess... not much of a choice. At least all of the info on it is recoverable, if I can only get outlook to work again I'll be really happy. And... speaking of outlook... I wonder if my massive amount of saved e-mails had anything to do with the failure... it seems like that's happened before. But after the last experience, I auto-archive everything more than 60 days old... so that's probably not it. I awoke this morning to the sound of thunder... at first I thought that someone was pounding on the door, but no... there was a thunderstorm literally forming over our heads. I'd left the windows of the truck open, and I got them closed before the toad-choker commenced, luckily. I had watered everything yesterday, of course... there's that damned Murphy again. Wait, that's not Murphy, I didn't wash the truck... must've been someone else. Probably babybush, heh. We probably got a coupla inches of rain, though, it rained hard for 2-3 hours or so. I finally got the archives of nilknarf.net recovered, though, so that the archives will be complete and correct... except for 05/23/06... don't know what happened to that one, dammit. And it was probably really, good, too.... Looking at the national weather, I noticed that Houston was getting drenched... up to 15 inches in some places. I hope that JD and Tyler weren't out fishing and were someplace safe. 19:03... And it's gonna be an early night for me, I'm really feeling kinda draggy and for some reason or another my legs are really sore today... and it can't be from being on them, because I haven't bee using them very much. Must be the two out of three things that make my legs hurt, heh. And this week is my early week, so it'll be a 05:30 alarm for me... but I do enjoy getting off at 15:30. O'yeah, Karen and I watched that movie about Johnny Cash, it was pretty good... I wonder if there's a part II for it, or if the rest of his life was relatively boring?
when you most need it, of course.
that is Murphy's law.
The day was spent mostly messing around and not accomplishing anything at all worthwhile... O'wait, I did hang up a wind chime for Karen, one that she got from Kim on Mother's day....
