ARCHIVES - 1996 to FOREVER

Not a bad day at work... Karen took the Toyota in to the body shop, and I followed her down there before work. She also had Drew for the morning. She then took me to work in the truck and came and picked me up at 16:30 when I got off.

Not too bad a day at work; I was on the console, but we now have, for the summer, a student learning CT. So she spent her first day with me. We spent the morning with me explaining while I did, and the afternoon with her doing while I watched and helped. I enjoyed it, really, it's refreshing to teach people, especially young pretty ones.

So about the only time that I got out of the chair today was to help move the occasional patient... which wasn't especially good for me, I really need time on my feet to feel productive and useful. We were kinda overstaffed today, so I didn't have to feel guilty... besides the aforementioned student, the night tech stayed over until about 14:00 to learn some things.

So I kinda had to spread myself between two students, which was quite OK with me.

Sitting all day kills my back, though.

I need to sit half the day and be on my feet half the day to even things out.

When I got home tonight I took my cleat boards and shaped them on the chop saw and sanded them and then stained them. And then I decided a coupla hours later that I would apply the first finish coat, but first I would read the directions on the can... and I hadn't bought a wiping finish but a brushed-on variety.

So I decided to wipe it on anyway, heh, Deft is Deft, right?

Well, I don't know about that, I'll find out when I put another coat on tomorrow after I re-sand it. Two coats will be plenty for this project. Or maybe three or four if it doesn't work out....

Hot today, and Karen turned the AC on and it's pleasant here. I was having lot of computer problems yesterday, I think because of the heat... I need to clean the cases out, it's been about six months now.

I'll find out how it's doing when I try to upload this entry... none of my FTP programs would work last night, thus the lateness of that entry onto the web.
