I really hate mouth pain. In fact, there is really no type of pain that I like.... The visit to the dentist went badly early on. He was trying to tap the bridge off... it felt like he was hammering my brain. Unfortunately, the bridge was ruined by the time it released, and so were two of the anchor teeth. So, there went a coupla month's salary... not to mention the pain. I had to go to the oral surgeon to get the remnants of my two middle teeth removed... more anesthetic, more pain and what felt like a 12-pound hammer jolting my brain. It was over rather quickly, though. And then it was back to the dentist, where he put on a temporary bridge. And the bridge interferes with the wadding usually used to stop the bleeding from an extracted tooth, so I have one 2X2 pad rolled up between my lip and gum and another one held to the front of my palate with my tongue. This is not very satisfactory because 100% of my attention has to be on keeping my tongue in place. I can't keep 100% of my attention on *anything* for more than about 30 seconds. And I had a can of tomato soup for lunch.... Anyway, as soon as the bleeding is stopped I'll go in to work. 20:43... But I quickly decided that it's better to be miserable and on the clock than it is to be miserable at home making no money and probably being irritable with Karen. It was much better to be at work being irritable to my co-workers, they deserved it more than she does, after all. Besides, I only have to work with them, heh. So the other late tech decided that well, he would go home then. And it wasn't really too busy and I was running the scan room and it wasn't bad. When I got home Karen had supper ready... Cathy and Morty and Mom were on their way over after I called them. And Karen fixed a fantastic supper, salmon and peas and salad and her famous cherry dump cake. And it was good! And the best thing about it was that I could eat it. Well, except for the salad, anyway. It is really nice seeing Cathy and Morty, they're really good people and nice to be around. They've been in New Orleans enjoying the jazz festival and enjoying the place... they were impressed by New Orleans, as is everyone who has vacationed there. Poor Karen has been fighting a cold for more than a week, and I'm afraid that she's getting worn out from it. Luckily, I haven't got it from her... but maybe she got it from me. I'm still on the antibiotics, of course, for another coupla days, maybe that helps. Doesn't help my digestive system any, though. Did I mention that my mouth hurts? Yes it does. And I'm on call... and the third shift person still isn't fully trained, so I hope that I don't get called, I would really like to get about ten hours of sleep, this day has been a strain on my body and my mind, y'know? Tomorrow about noon we're all gonna go to the Kansas Historical Society Museum, and I'm looking forward to that, I haven't been for several years. Morty is a museum buff and I know that he'll enjoy it, and of course Mom and I will too. Cathy and Karen are pretty neutral to the idea, but they're going along just to be nice... 'cause they just are. "We must question the story logic of having an all-knowing all-powerful God, who creates faulty Humans, and then blames them for his own mistakes. "

Death, the only answer.
I dutifully and bravely went to work at about 13:00, and found that they had actually had a replacement for me! She had came in at 08:00 and was in no hurry to go home and, after my co-workers looked at me they thought that maybe I should go back home.
