Pretty crummy day, altogether, yes it was. First off... I had to get up. Shower and shave and off to see the dentist... or actually, the dental hygienist. And the dental hygiene part went well... but not the dentist part. Seems like I've got an incipient infection at the tip of my #10 tooth... that's the top front one. One of the one that's had a root canal, and is a bridge anchor. The bridge spans five teeth and has held up quite well for five or six years. So I need to take antibiotics for ten days and then I have an appointment next friday for what will be at least a two-hour procedure, if everything goes well. And he was not willing to give me the odds on things going well, instead explaining the things that could go wrong. It was a fairly lengthy list. The point is, though, that it was only serendipity that it was discovered... it had been more than five years since I'd had a panorex done, but I elected to have it done this time instead of next time. And the infection, which is just under my left maxillary sinus, would not have showed up on the regular set of x-rays. No, wait, that's not the point... the point is, probably withing a week I would have had a raging infection, and I would most likely have thought that it was sinusitis. Kinda like a toothache in my nose, as it were. Anyway, it'll be paid for, I've got a hundred percent dental coverage (actually, two fifties) but I'm more concerned with the pain, of course, as I rightly should be. His plan is to deaden most of my face, and then "tap" the bridge off. Well, folks, like I said, it's been on there for five years, and that ain't gonna be easy. And he allowed that it might wind up being chipped or even broken during the process. And then he will take out the metal dowels that are holding the bridge in place, two of them, then treat the infection, then put in new dowels and re-seat the bridge. OK, enough of that, I'm getting queasy just writing about it. So I got my lab work done today too, but I completely forgot to check and see how it came out, we were that busy. And I was the runner today and I ran, we all did, in fact. Consequently tard, of course. And I didn't sleep well last night, dammit, I gotta stop that. And it doesn't help any that I'm still up at 21:35 tonight either. I need to be in bed and asleep by 21:00 every night. Gotta get that through my think skull.
Sweet caresses of science
Sour whiffs redundant.
