Daily Nilknarf Haiku
tilting at windmills
is fun when you're young and hale;
old farts should just watch.

Well, I'm not getting better as fast as I want to, dammit.

In fact, I don't seem to be getting any better at all. I'm still really afraid every time that I move that I'll twist just wrong or something and start the spasms going again.

From the way that I understand the mechanism, it doesn't have to be a major injury to start it off... just something to get the psoas muscle to spasm, tighten up... and it's all downhill from there. Once it starts, you've gotta find a way to relax it before it can even start to heal.

And drugs are the best way to do that, of course... or a hot tub. Or a heating pad... speaking of which, we have several, but I have no idea where they might be.

I did get some things accomplished today, though... I put the answers for my continuing education into the forms on the ASRT website, and I've now got half of them done. And since I have a year left almost, it won't be a problem to get the other half done... I might read a few more today, if I can stay awake.

I watched parts of a coupla movies this afternoon... nothing special, and definitely nothing memorable, since I can't even remember what they were about.

But that's probably the drugs... after all, it's the drugs that gave me the idea of flipping through the channels in the first place, heh. Watching TV is about my last choice of things to do when I'm bored.

Karen is making some kind of chili casserole and it smells wonderful....

I may or may not come back and write some more, or I just might go to bed instead.

Heh, in one of the dreams I had last night, I was running... as in, I was a runner in a marathon or something. And I remember running and running and feeling wonderful about it.

And I'm sure that if I could run it would feel wonderful... I can't imagine myself running, but I can dream about it. My memory of the dream was triggered while reading Patrick's journal

Meanwhile, back in DC... the att. gen said that he wouldn't rule out domestic wiretapping without warrants. Which means that they're already doing it, y'know? Just be careful out there, with who you talk to and what you say... innocent words taken out of context could net you a long, anonymous trip to SE Cuba....
