Got awoken about 06:00, but I didn't get up until 06:30 or so.... I had forgotten to mention in yesterday's entry that the echocardiogram was better than I expected... my ejection fraction is about 45%, which is a definite improvement over the last numbers that I got when they did the cath before I got the pacer a coupla years ago. It was 30-35% at that time. Normal range is above 60%, so I'm still down by a ways, heh, I guess that I've healed up, after all, I'd just had a heart attack, might've had something to do with it. At any rate, I'm not having any problems with the betapace, except maybe one. My blood pressure is running high, and the cardiologist who saw me today added another BP med to the mix of pills that I'm taking... and my triglycerides are up, so I'm taking an additional pill for that. So, so far, my BP is up`with no real idea on how to go about getting it down ... and my triglycerides are way too high. But the betapace seems to be working... instead of being in trigemini or bigemini most of the time I'm having frequent runs of good beats up to ten and twelve times in a row.... I think that's progress,
My heart is being constantly monitored, so they can always see what's happening at the monitor station... and it's all recorded, of course. And the food here is quite OK, and I'm hungry most of the time ... I'm sure that's good for me, heh, but the hell with good for me, I needs me some sweet stuff. Haven't lost any weight yet, though, dammit... and Karen brought in some mint chocolate-chip ice cream which was excellent, of course. I ate about a third of it and made JD eat the rest, he is such a good kid! He'd come up originally about noonish, but I sent him home and tried to take a nap, and I did for a while. He came back around 17:00 and we watched the first game of the semi-finals, disappointed that George Mason didn't win their game against florida... or even look like they belonged there, especially in the second half. And the second game was worse.... UCLA just beat up on LSU, it wasn't really even a contest. As JD and I were talking before the games, it's kinda nice not having a dog in the hunt... we're kinda free to root for who we like. And both the teams that we like... well, they sucked, at least for all except the first half of the first game. Gotta give it to the opposition, though...lots of great round-ball was played tonight.
