It was a pretty damned good day for a Monday; the schedule was, for a change, not ridiculous, and the patients, for the most part, were well-behaved and gratious. and I made it through the day without smoking, or even thinking very much about it. However, when I got home? Those two cigars beckoned me, so I smoked them. I put out the last one about an hour ago, and that's that, heh. I know, I've said that before.... And even though cigars are much better than cigarettes, they still contain nicotine... which does things with your heart rates. Especially mine. On a whim, I decided to check my pulse both before and after smoking a cigar. Before smoking, I was having about one bad heartbeat (PVC) in every seven; after, it was about one in three. This should tell me something, heh. Like, "don't be stupid, you dumb fucker!" And the other part, the caffeine... well, I have to figger that out too. So I'm just going to excluyde caffinated products from my diet... and yeah, that includes chocolate of all varieties. Which ties into my other goal... besides living forever... and that is to lose weight. Right now I'm about 240... and I want, and need, to get down to 180. I have been way too self-indulgent to way too long. Time to stop that shit, dammit. I've got a lot of boards to cut, a lot of joints to make... and a lot of shit to write. I finished up my marking gauge tonight; the picture shows
they will emerge and will die
all else will be lost.it almost finished, and then I found the brass that I knew I had, heh. The small pin on the left of the walnut block is the actual marker, I still have to file it. It's somewhat inelegant and actually pretty ugly, but fully functional.. it does that I want it to do, which is to mark wood for cutting and sizing....
