Daily Nilknarf Haiku
life's end, dramatic
only to suffering, dying
raw fact to living.

A relative smoothe day, except for the end of it.

I did get a good sleep last night, thoug, made it bearable.

Everything was pretty much cleared out by 14:45, and I declared my intention to leave. There was only one other patient scheduled to arrive, and an ICU patient on the way down for a routing study.

I was in the scan room today, and as I was dismissing my 14:45 patient the ICU patient was waiting outside the door.

So I decided to stay, of course. Heck, I would be done in five minutes anyway.

Well, not so.

Wound up calling a code blue on the patient, and everything turned out all right, but it was a cluster from the minute that they came in the door, heh.

So it was about 16:00 before I really got out of there.

And this evening something happened that I had thought was impossible.

I discovered that Pizza Hut does *not* make the best pizza.

Old Chicago does.

Karen and I met Andy and Rhonda and Rhonda's daughter and her fiancee at Old Chicago about 19:00, and I had a good time and enjoyed some great pizza.

And that's about all that I have to say about the day.

Politically, it appears that the republicans (bushies, anyway) have lost a battle for the wrong reasons. The ports are still safe in American hands, just like New Orleans was....

This whole port management thing was so mis-handled by the bushies it's disgusting. Laying out the facts would have been so easy... but no, obfuscation is second nature to these guys, so they said I'm gonna do it my way, and fuck you.

So they didn't get what they wanted, and America, as usual, got shafted....

Maybe I'll go more into this as events unfold, but probably not.

Something that has made me think, though....

There has been a portrayal of the conflict of civilizations, anmely Xianity and Islam. Islam being described as, well, eighth-century and Xianity as modern.

The whole idea of Xianity being modern just kinda boils my soul... or it would if I had one.

What we have is a conflict of 2nd-century and 8th-century ideas. And they are both wrong, wrong, wrong in a modern context.

But as long as they keep on blindly believing their unsupported beliefs, there will be conflict.

And they will keep on doing that, until the demise of humanity.

'Cause they're all right, t'know? And they're willing to die to prove that.

Let them die proving that, then. Ignorant bastards.

Just don't take me and my loved ones with you is all I ask.

But they don't care, not at all, not a whit.

And I really don't care what happens to them, I'm sorry to say.

Eh, rotten mood, sorry.
