Daily Nilknarf Haiku

At the center of
the sky, there is a point where
up loses all meaning.

22:13....
I was pretty much right about not getting much sleep last night. We had a very loud thunderstorm pass about 03:00, and I think that I went to sleep for a while after that. Karen, of course, slept like a baby.

We decided to check out and go get something to eat. Well, the place that we chose was packed, so we decided to go to best buy and then come back or go somewhere else. It had started raining again, and promised more from the looks of things....

So, we decided to go to Sams' first, just to see if they had the right camera, but they didn't. But we bought some cinnamon rolls... in fact, I think that I'll go have one right now....

Anyway, it was sprinkling a little more heavily by the time we got to best buy, and we went in and bought (Karen?) a digital camera. It's a Sony DSC P-200, 7.2 MP.

It was now raining pretty heavily, and we thought that we'd wait for it to let up, so I went to the computer section and Karen went to the movies. A clerk asked if he could help me and I told him that I was waiting out the rain.

He told me to be prepared to wait a long time, and showed me the current radar.

Well, I was gonna get wet anyway, so I got Karen and then I went out in the rain to pull the car around for her. She didn't get very wet.

We went back to the packed IHOP, and it was still packed, so we went to McDs' and got a cuppa decaff and sat in the parking lot and shared a connamon roll.

Then it was on to Debbies'... Jeffs' recital was at 15:00, and the party was gonna follow immediately, and there was a lot of stuff to do.

The party was origianlly scheduled to be a garden party, their back yard looks wonderful. However, the rain quashed that idea.

I almost forgot to mention... Jeff had played at the church service earlier, and Karen and I opted out....

Anyway, things were being done, and I did what I do best... I stayed out of everyones' way.

And the recital was nice... excellent music. Jeff and a female fiddle player were doing this recital together, and she went first... first with a quartet, then some solo stuff. She was really, rally good.

And so was Jeff. The kid is a genius with the clarinet.

And the party was nice... we left just after the first guests left, we were on the road at 17:30.

And we got home, and I discovered that I'd left the charger for the new camera in Wichita, dammit. And I really want to take it to DC with me....

This forgetting necessary shit is starting to bother me.
