Daily Nilknarf Haiku

Tempestuous fury
spun from innocent dark clouds
rakes the sullen earth.

I had my alarm set for 06:30 today, and I snoozebarred until almost 09:00. So much for getting up early, heh.

I had a package to pick up from the post office, a 200GB disk drive, and I needed to get cat food... the poor things were all out.

Piddled around trying to get an older computer to work, failing again, even with the new HD.

O'well, it's a minor project.

A major project looms, though.

I got a registered letter from the city today... I need to clean up the back yard. And I was planning on it, of course... but not moving very fast about it.

So tomorrow I'll get started on it... lotta physical work, but the boys (Patrick and Brian) are gonna be helping me... I hope. The sorting out is the hard part, of course.

23:22...
Nice little thunderstorm, didn't quite miss us this time. The big stuff all went north, though, as usual.

I was downstairs changing the strings on my guitar when it hit, and I was not mentally prepared, I guess. I knew that it was coming, but I was concentrating on my work... jumped out of the chair with the first clap of thunder.

the good news today: the mars rover that was stuck is now unstuck.

It's just so cool that we have machines on Mars!

Karen is back home today, I've missed her, of course.

And we got some closets cleaned out and some closet doors removed... the sliding kind, never working right and always in the wrong place, heh. Not any more, they ain't!

And I'm gonna take a shower and hit the sack....
