Daily Nilknarf Haiku

Dew in th morning
torrid, humid, hot sun at noontime
damp breezes at night.

Interesting night, last night.

Well, more like disgusting....

I couldn't get to sleep. Toss/turn, get up, eat something, got to bed, toss/turn... you get the idea, right?

And it was 06:45 before I finally got to sleep.

Yep, the sun was up and eerything... birds singing, Karen snoring... O'wait, that must've been a cat, Karen says that she doesn't snore....

So I slept until about noonish... and Karen and I started working on the "old" kitchen, getting rid of clothes and getting things straightened out.

We also worked in the bedroom, essentially moving junk around, although we did throw a bunch out.

And I finally got XP loaded on one of the machines in the basement. Unfortunately, I don't know what I did to make it work.

And I decided to add more memory to it... but no, the memory that I had was the same size, so that wouldn't help any. I did wind up putting it in another machine, though.

So anyway, I put the covers back on and fired it up, and it worked great! Then I practiced some scales on the guitar for a while, and when I went back it was frozen up.

And then it wouldn't re-boot.

So I spent fifteen minutes working on it to no avail.

I decided to take the cover off and immediately found the culprit... some dumb SOB had left a wire too close to the CPU fan, and when I closed the case it kept the fan from running.

And I got lucky, there was no permanent damage done.

And this week is my 07:00 week, and I need to go count out my pills into their little boxes and then get to bed. I'm taking a pill tonight...
