Daily Nilknarf Haiku

The hundred-year rule:
you remember it that long
and maybe it counts.

Long day, started at 05:30, not 05:00, the way it was supposed to... snoozebarred way too long this morning.

I got to work, and there was very little, really that needed to be done. Which is the way it was supposed to work... I was just there mostly in case things went bad.

And the same with tomorrow... with any luck, I'll just spend an hour drinking coffee and wondering about how well things work sometimes...

I was in the scan room today, and it wasn't too bad... we didn't have patients scheduled for the afternoon, so that we wouldn't fill up the tiny HDs on the test system. CT is the biggest user by far of disk space, quadruple what the rest of the departments total. And it'll get worse when we get the new scanners in, we'll probably quadruple that number yet again.

I left about 15:00, came home and puttered around, the left about 18:00 to pick up Karen and Kim at the KCI. Nice little trip down there, and an even more pleasant experience coming back, of course, since I had two beautiful and witty women with me.

And coming back, we saw an interesting atmospheric phenomena: a sun tower, I think that they're called. Bright red column in front of the sun as it's setting. Simply beautiful, and me with no camera, dammit.

Karen and Kim had a wonderful time, but Karen's glad to be home, and Lacee was happy to see both of them. I had offered to take Lacee with me to the airport, but she had a book report that she had to get done....

And I need to get a shower and get to sleep!
