Daily Nilknarf Haiku

Dim, the light; fading
vision perceives faint movement
And then all is still.

Headache, been there for three days now. Just enough to be irritating, hardly worth taking a pill for, but I take a pill anyway.

I got up more or less on time today, got to work twenty minutes early, as usual.

And the day was busy, which has also been usual lately. Slack days are becoming fewer.

I am *so* looking forward to getting the new scanners in!

I'm getting bored with the limited capacity of the old one, especially knowing that we're getting the new ones. I haven't been this excited about work for a long time... the technical side of it, anyway.

Learning is really fun for me... routine work isn't. I need to be in research somewhere... but that would require a whole different career, and I'm just a little old for that.

Karen took Mom to the doc today, and she got a lot of medicine... she's not been feeling well lately, and I hope that the pills (and diet( help. She had lost six pounds since her last visit... down to 95 pounds.

I measured the lot and the house tonight, but I haven't got the drawing ready that I need to take down tot city hall. Procrastination, dammit. I hate it when I do that...

And it's past my bedtime by an hour already. And another hard day looming....

"The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy: that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness."

-- John Kenneth Galbraith
