Yet another long, long day; although I didn't have to be at work until 08:00, I snoozebarred until about 07:15, when Karen elbowed me fully awake. Again today, a slow morning, and an extremely busy afternoon. There were three of us there until 15:00, when the other FT tech left; then just me and the evening tech. And about five minutes after he left, we got busy. And I discovered that the evening tech and I work very well together... we put out a helluva lot of work for two people in the next two hours. Well, 90 minutes... my goal was to get outta there on time, of course. And I did, just barely. WEnt home and JD was just about all packed up. And he wanted to see Mom one more time before he left, so we decided to go over there. Got in the truck and I called, but got a busy signal. So we went over there, and tried the entry system... got a busy signal. We sat out in the courtyard and smoked, with me trying every so often on the cell... busy signal. I called Karen, and she said she hadn't heard from Mom, but why don't I try the manager? DUH! Did that, the guy recognized me and let us in. And we enjoyed a brief visit with Mom... I need to go get some stuff at Walgreens for her, along with a prescription for myself. And then we came home and JD made his final preparations and he was off... for Emporia, where the godfather thing will be done tomorrow. I always hate, hate hate to see him go... I won't get any more work out of him until he comes back again! Not only does JD work hard while he's here, he inspires me to work hard too. Double bonus here! I will, most likely, see him tomorrow... I really want to go down to Emporia for the ceremony, and the attendant partying that will occur.... The only thing stopping me is... am I too tired from this last week? I just don't know. Right now, I think that I'm gonna make it down there For one thing, I really like Colin and his wife... and I'll get to spend some more time with JD. And Colin's brother and his father will be there too, both people that I really like. Ah, tomorrow will tell. Yep, I've talked myself into it, I'm goin! Tonight, I've not done much of anything since JD left. Worked with some software, recorded a coupla songs, watched KU beat KSU, listened to all kindsa crap about the Atlanta Courthouse shooting... Which reminds me... some judge, somewhere, denied Jay Leno's constitutional rights by not allowing him to say whatever he wants to about a controversial issue... Michael Jackson, specifically. A gag order was issued... but it didn't cover visuals.... so Leno wore pajama bottoms on his show last night. I don't know this for a fact, since I didn't see it, but it's wonderful. Judges... one very respected fellow killed, and another in a higher court saying Jefferson was wrong. Yep, Scalia strikes again. Jackass. We're not a xian nation, we're a nation by the people, of the people, and for the people, goddamnit. And tonight has to be an early one... but already it's 22:00. Time... dammit, slow it down!
