The shades of winter I did sleep a little late today, after a false get-up about 05:30, just as the eastern horizon was starting to lighten a little. Went back to bed, slept until 09:15 or something like that. Spent the day piddling, it seems. Drew was over here until about 14:30. I got some stuff done in the basement, and got some computer stuff done, and spend hours off and on trying to get the wireless network to working to no avail. Lee Ann called this afternoon, she's been off sick for two whole weeks.. pneumonia pretty much knocked her out. Anyway, Jody was playing tonight, and it was a new club, and she asked us if we wanted to go. Well, JD wouldn't be in until 22:00, or maybe later, so I talked Karen into going. We got out there just as they started playing... and the club was pretty small, and pretty packed. It was enjoyable, of course, but we only stayed until 21:30 or so... they started playing at 20:00, so we didn't feel *too* badly about leaving early. And JD got in about 22:30, so the timing was good. He was thinking that he would stop at the Emporia rest stop and meet Colin, his friend from long ago, but that didn't work out, so he drove straight on through. It is really good seeing him, it's been way too long. If you racall, I was planning on going down New Years and that didn't work out... And JD gave me my x-mas present... a sketch book. I've never had one before, and I think that I'll make good use of it. I haven't really drawn for years, but I usta love it. And I'm hittin the sack soon, and I'll waken JD up when I get up, since it's the only full day that I'll get to spend with him... I couldn't get any time off this week, dammit, too late on the request and another FT tech is off.
