Nobody died on my table.

Lives were saved because of the technology that I command.

Lives have been prolonged, and lives were shattered.

And that was just at work....

I got up before the alarm went off today, always a good sign... means that I have slept enough. Something so infrequent that it does deserve special mention.

And why is all that?

I been thinkin' about that.

And I think that I know why.

My legs... they don't hurt nearly as much as they did two days ago. In fact, they only hurt when I think about them, it's not something that I'm having to overcome on a minute-to-minute basis.

Monday night was the last time that I took the Lipitor. Doesn't seem possible... but there it is.

I have gone off of the Lipitor twice recently, when I was taking the Zithromax. And I was so miserable both times that I never noticed the leg pain diminishing, if it indeed did.

I'll give it another week, just to see if I'm right... well, see if my doc is right. SOB is certainly worth the money for this problem anyway.

Of course, it could be just euphoria... endorphins produced by my brain, thinking that the problem is solved.

But I'm really thinking... that with the Lipitor producing muscle pain (-statin-induced myalgia) and my decreased blood flow to my legs, the pain was quadrupled. And I'm gonna wind up with something that I can live with.

And I really like that.

Pain is OK as a stimulus... y'know, take yer hand off that hot stove.... but it's really counter-productive in chronic cases.

Another example of the fact that if an intelligent designer produced human beings, it was either an imbecile or really, really cruel.

Which reminds me....

We had an election Tuesday, and Topeka narrowly defeated an ordinance that would have allowed government hiring practices to discriminate against people because of their sexual orientation.

And the wording of the ordinance was deceptive....

And the advertising was deceptive....

And it was everything that the right wing is expected to be by yours truly.

And it was put there by the Phelps clan (godhatesfags.com)... not gonna give them a link, copy and paste into your browser if you don't mind getting really, really filthy.

Back to real life....

Karen and Mom spent the day together, they had a good time, and Karen fixed a fantastic supper. Mom is doing well, she got her cable hooked up and her pictures hung and I need to pick up the boxes left in her apartment tomorrow.

And I'm gonna go play some more music and get my butt to bed, it's past 21:00 now.

Yeah, I'm an old man, I need to go to bed early, so's I can work circles around the young whippersnappers that I work with....
