The alarm went off at 07:35, but I was loathe to get up... so I did, finally, about 07:00. Called Mom, told her it would be 20 or 30 minutes. Hitched up the trailer and got all ready to go. When I finished filling up at the gas station, I called her, and she said, "OK, I'll let you in!" and hit 9 to open the door. Problem was, of course, I wasn't there yet, and I wasn't planning on going up, since I didn't want to park the truck and trailer. But, being a dutiful son, I just drove up and parked. Then I called her, but she wasn't there... and a few minutes later she came to the door... she'd been wondering where I was. So we got on the road about 08:00 and had an uneventful trip in the rain and drizzle and cold. We do to Enid in pretty good time and immediately started working. I had to go get some more boxes, since I had forgotten the ones from the last trip. I got five, and there was one left over. Big plastic heavy-duty boxes, they are. I'd called my buddy Jesse, but he was still working, said that he'd call back. Well, he did, but I missed his call and didn't call him back until about 18:00. He'd just gotten home and he'f had a rough day... so he opted out of buying my supper. He did want to buy me breakfast on Sunday, though, but that's not very enjoyable for me, since I knew that I would be anxious to get back to Topeka. So I went to the Chinese Buffet by myself, since Mom didn't want to go out. I'd stopped by Wal-Mart first to get some wiper blades for the truck, the ones on it were pretty much worn out. When I went back to the house, Mom was in bed with a belly-ache. I gave her some tums and she got better, but she was exhausted. So was I, for that matter... but I was wired for some reason. So I finished reading Not Quite a Miracle by brother Dan before I went to bed. about 01:00....
