brutal winter is A better night's sleep, but I still need more, more, more! Good day at work... not really busy, and interesting things happening. Unfortunately, interesting things are seldom good for my patients, dammit. I met Karen over at Mom's apartment after work, and she's made some great progress. We need to hang up her pictures and mirrors and she's still got some stuff left to put away, but I do think that she's gonna be really happy there. And the other residents are pretty nice people, from what I've seen. I'm sure that some of them will drive Mom batshit, but that's the way of the world. I'm not really sure if she can be as isolated as she sometimes wants to be. And a have a confession to make: I am really stupid. I drove the truck to work today, being careful to not go over 20MPH because it was still stuck in 4WDLow. I got there in plenty of time, and I decided to sit there and look through the owner's manual for a minute or two. I had just done that a coupla weeks ago, before we went to Wichita, but I thought that I'd better see if there was something that I'd missed or mis-read. And sure enough, it says right there to put the transmission in *neutral*, not in park. And to keep your foot on the brake or set the hand brake while chinging from 4WDLow to 2WD. So, what the hell... I tried that... and it worked. Just like it said it would. Did I mention that I'm an idiot? Sometimes I think that I know more than I do, and that flaw will probably prove to be fatal some day. So, anyway, tonight I came home and did some singing, and I sounded so good that I thought I'd record it. Opened up a new program, set it up, started singing... and *bam*! the computer shut down. Rebooted. Didn't like my password. Again. After an hour of fiddling around, I got it going again... but set back about two months. So... lots of files went *poof*. Ah, so, live and learn... but ain't I about old enough to have learned everything? I keep feeling older and older, heh.
gleeful over her hold on
the land; it will end.
