Daily Nilknarf Haiku

Nature knows no bounds;
Only humanity, and their
feeble knowledge.

Someday soon. I'm gonna gather all my haikus and put them on a single page, and see if they make any more sense that way....

I had a very productive day, albeit rather short, since I had a late start. Yep, I slept until damned near noon today. And I slept good, didn't hardly make any mistakes.

JD and I went downstairs and re-arranged the "Studio" part of the basement, and later we're gonna re-arrange the rest of it, to be more usable, I hope. I have much junk down there that needs to go in a dumpster, and it all needs to be arranged better.

I was hoping to have a shop, so that I could be rid of a buncha stuff down there, instead of just storing it, but that just ain't happening, I'm afraid.

But the big news of the day... JD and I got the riding mower going.

And I really have to give all of the credit to JD... after we replace the switch and the solenoid, it still wouldn't turn over, and he noticed that the wires on the battery were evil-looking, corroded. So he cleaned them up, and tried it, and eureka! It worked. I was sitting on the deck with Karen (she'd just got back from Wichita((more about that later) and we heard the motor starting and a war whoop from JD.

So I mowed the front yard while they watched me. The back yard will come tomorrow, I think.

And we've changed our plans slightly, we aren't going to Enid until Saturday morning....

This has been such a nice relaxing week off with JD, I need to do this about four times a year, I think.

22:27...
Watched John Kerry, I was more impressed than I thought I'd be, I think that I'll probably=y vote for him....

\

JD and I and Karen met Kim and Lacee and Matt and Brian at a mexican place that had $.99 marguerites, and I had a couple... and an excellent dinner, too. Than JD and I left, and played some awesome music.

Then we watched Kerry, and now... I don't know. We(JD and I) sat out on the deck and talked about all kinds of things. he's not impressed with Kerry, but he will, of course, vote against Bush, whatever the case.

And I will vote against Bush 'cause I hate him, and what he's done, and wants to do, against the constitution.

I've often wondered why I think that Bush is so hateful to me, and I really think that it's because the thinks that the constitution needs to be changed. He wants what he wants, and the constitution has no place there at all. The constitution, after all, is for the *little* people, and he just doesn't identify with little people. He's a *big* person, and the hell with the little people. This is a reflection of his actions, not his words.

And Kerry?

So far, only words. But they are words that I like better than Bush's words.

And of course, they're only campaign promises... just like Bush's conservative compassion bullshit.

Can't believe a word od it, either one. Give us actions, not words. Bush has failed that test....
