Daily Nilknarf Haiku

Serenity comes
to those unaware of the evil
sepsis of the world.

I have an hour or so before we go to the Bottleneck in Lawrence, so I thought that I'd put a few words down here....

Toe hurty. Still. For sure not broken, I was able to manipulate it enough today to prove that to myself. However, when I stubbed it earlier, it made it hurt even more. Well, duh, of course. A *good* toe hurts when it's been stubbed.

Anyways, I did call the doc, and I have an appointment tomorrow at 15:30 to see him. Then I've got an appointment on Wednesday morning (at 07:00!) to get my teeth checked. Obviously, I didn't know that I was going to be on vacation when I set that one up....

Got up around 10:30, woke JD up about 11:00 or so, so we'll be able to party all night... right.

We looked at the mower, and arrived at the idea of taking the switch out and ringing it with an ohmmeter... and we think that it's bad. So I ordered another on on-line, and I also ordered a solenoid while I was at it, I've been suspicious of that too. Should be here in a week, about the time that the lawn needs mowing again, heh.

Other than that, we've just been hanging out, having lots of good conversations and watching parts of the Dems convention.

Which reminds me... last week, one day when Matt and Brian came over, Matt told me that there was a guy coming up the drive. I answered the door knock, and the guy (more than middle-aged, bald and pudgy)(a lot like me) told me that he was with the Republicans trying to get out the vote. I was only a little bit rude with him, and he was incredulous. He asked me if I was a registered republican, and I told him yes I was, mostly so that I could vote against BoB Dole when he was active. Then he said that Bob must've really pissed me off, and I told him that all republicans piss me off. And most democrats, too. We parted politely, and he went on to the next house.

You know, it's not the republicans or the democrats, it just that people are able to buy into ideologies that they don't understand. And I just hate living in a world like that, I really do.

Unfortunately, my choices are limited. Very limited. I *need* to live her, in this world, at least for another 20 or 30 years, heh.

Anyway.

We're gonna have some fun tonight and see a really cool show.
