Daily Nilknarf Haiku

To find true wisdom
one must come to realize
that there is none here.

Dang, I forgot to change the date yesterday, and I got called on it... by my eldest son, even.

"timestamp malfunction alert!" was his message. Unfortunately, the >BLINK< mode is no longer in vogue, and, in fact, it no longer even works in newer browsers. One could, if one wanted to, make a short animated GIF that would do the trick, but beware: there is a reason that >BLINK< has gone bye-bye. It's just irritating as hell. So one would be well-advised to not do that, OK? Yes, I do speak from experience, I was still young and dumb when Gore invented the internet.

Today was payback day at work. We've had some easy days lately, and some easy weekends, and I hope that today wasn't a harbinger of things to come, since I'm working this weekend....

I was in the scan room today, and my legs are about worn out, they are. This afternoon was scheduled to be busy, and then the ER hit us with five or six Abdomen/pelvis exams, and at one point we were six patients behind. And we had a full crew even....

So, after yesterdays' gushing about playing music, today I can't.

Just can't get this fingers to work right for some reason or another. I got frustrated and quit after getting about ten pages into my songbook, and I can usually easily go through the whole hundred in an evening.

I think that the problem is that my fingers are connected in some arcane way to my brain, and my brain has somewhat fizzled this evening.

It's been raining a lot lately, but the sun broke through about 17:30 when Karen was leaving with Kim and Andy and the grandkids to see a Royals game. They stink the park up this year, but there will be fireworks, they put on a really good show, I've heard. Their last home game for a while, they have to go get beaten up on on the road for a week or two now.

I was invited to go, but I declined, since there was no way that I could have gotten off on Friday with such short notice, dammit. I usta love ball games, back in the days before the strike....

And now I gotta go put together my weekly pill boxes and shortly after that it's bedtime.
