Friday 25 June 12:18

I just finlshed smoking my last clgar:.. At least the last one in my posession.

Sitting on the front patio, it's a beautiful day here. About 70 degrees F, nice breeze, just about perfect weather.

Woke up this morning about 07:00, it was cold in our room last nlght, but I couldn't get awake enough to get up and turn the thermostat down, so I laid there shivering ail night.

13:55... Just finished with a nice lunch and exellent conversation with wonderful company. Karens' family is a neat bunch of people.

Plans are.. Relax this afternoon, then we're all (the adults anyway) going to a picnic in a barn with a chamber music trio. I read a good review of the group in this mornings' Wichita paper and I'm really looking forward to it!

After Karen and I ate breakfast at IHOP, we went to SAMS' and I bought a swimming suit... I'd forgotten mine again, that seems to be something that I always do. Now I've got three swimming suits, and only one of them has ever been wet. So swimming is on the agenda this afternoon fer sure.

Yeah, well, that didn't happen. Decided to take a nap instead, and *that* didn't happen either, dammit.

Debbie had given me some gum, and I was chomping away in it on the way to the hotel... and I uprooted a crown. I really hate it when that happens.

21:45... Excellent entertainment tonight. A jazz trio... Pianist, upright bass, drummer. It's a garden party chamber music at a barn just north of Wichita, originally an x-mas tree farm. The weather is once again just perfect except for the mosquitoes, and they even furnished OFF to take care of that problem for us!

There's seating in the barn itself for maybe a hundred people, and there are about that many in the garden, where we're sitting.

I bought a CD and some truffles, I only ate one of them so far...

And I've bummed a few cigarettes from Matt, and I'm gonna buy a box of clgars in the morning.
