Daily Nilknarf Haiku

Bluebird sky, bright sun
threatening smudge on the horizon.
the freshet begins later.

In fifteen days I will be doing my 3000th entry here. Let's see if I remember to mention it here on that day, which will be... June 17th. Ten days before Karen's birthday.

Yet another crummy night's sleep, dammitall over again! The last time that I looked at the clock it was 03:00. Got up at 05:30 and was at the dentists' at 07:00 sharp, and outta there at 07:15. Piece of cake, like I said (quite stupidly) yesterday.

And it was a tough day, too. I was driving, but it didn't feel like it. Busy all day long, and I had to stay until 16:30. And even though it was busy, I could hardly stay awake.

I did stick a really tough vein, though, on the first try.

O'yeah, I'm the proud owner of a riding lawn mower. Couldn't get the price down, though, dammit. But it'll be worth it, I hope. Karen paid about the same amount last summer to keep the lawn mowed, so it'll effectively pay for itself this year. Plus, I'll probably mow more often.

World news, national news, state and local news, I don't really want to talk about any of it. Religion and politics are getting old to me, too.

OK, the footings are dug. City has to inspect them again, then pour on Friday. And hopefully, by the next weekend I will ba able to start wiring. I'm getting excited!

And I did something tonight that I've been putting off for months... I cancelled the Netflix accoung. Took me all of five minutes, it did. My procrastination cost me $100, I decided to wuit them in January.

Some day I'll finish my series of procrastination essays...

But right now, I'm gonna try to get some sleep, ah, sweet sleep, sweet, elusive sleep....
