slow rain, unyielding Well, OK, I admit it; I'm for gay marriage mostly because BabyBush and his ilk are against it. Well, that, and the fact that denying people rights just goes against my grain in general. Remember the constitution, DuhBU? O'wait, he can't remember it, he wants to change it to reduce the rights of ten percent of Americans. And of course, he has the fourteen percent of us who are faithless in his sights too. I really can't go on a rant tonight, I only got two hours of sleep again last night, and my brain is running on empty. And speaking of running on empty, howzabout them gas prices. Yeah, you knew it was coming... thank you, BabyBush! After I got up and showered and walked out the door at 06:25, the rain started pelting down. Walking from the parking lot to the hospital, my poor little umbrella kept my head and shoulders (mostly) dry, but I was soaked from the waist down. Luckily, I'm wearing sandals again (yeah, summer!) so I had dry socks and shoes to wear. We got about two inches this morning, and more this afternoon, although I didn't get to witness the afternoon deluge. And it looks like more coming, but I'll miss that too, I plan to be snoozing soon as it gets dark enough. Today was a fun day at work, though. I got to do three biopsies! Yep, three! Well, one was a pus-draining, but that still counts. Lotsa stress to the biopsies, which is what makes it fun, of course, but it also makes my legs and back hurt. But I was glad for the diversity, made my sleep-deprived brain work. I wasn't really on the Z today, I was the runner, but the Z tech had to fill in for the vacation tech, who was assigned to the scan room, and the other tech was on the console, which are the two vital necessities, so I was the one that got to do the fun stuff. And tomorrow? I'll be on the Z for real, which means that I'll be on the console filling in for the vacationer in the AM unless I can persuade the runner to let me do the biopsies again. I know that we've got at least one, maybe two to do. I find myself at odds with my coworkers who don't really like to be in the scan room or doing biopsies... I like to be where the action is. Being on the console is a nice place too, 'cause you get to look at all of the scans, other positions are usually too busy to enjoy the products of our work. But I really dislike being the runner. Parts of it I do like, and the part that I really don't like is, uh, the running. We have to go about fifty yards to the front waiting room and bring the patient back to the scan area, and after doing that all day my legs are killing me. The fun part is putting in the IVs, but we still have to walk about twenty yards to get that done too. Anyway, enough of that and enough of the other and, in fact, enough of this.... I'm glad that I don't have to explain my haikus to anyone.
