(more transcribed from the PDA) It's almost 13:00, and Mom is laying down on the couch; she has complained about feeling dizzy and and just generally not feeling well and I'm kinda worried about her.. I didn't sleep well last night, probably because I don't deserve two good nights in a row, that's about the best explanation that I can come up with. Anyway, I got up around 08:00 and made coffee and Karen got up around 09:00. I took a shower and shaved (badly) and we went off to meet Jess and Brenda. We met them at the Golden Corral at 10:00 and spent about an hour and a half with them. Brenda had ovarian carcinoma in 1996 and survived that (very unusual!) and then she had a mastectomy for breast cancer in 2000, and now she's got cancer in the other breast. Some people have all of the luck, and some have damned little. She seems to be in really good spirits, though, and I think that it was good spirits that got her through the first two ordeals and it'll get her through this one too. Jess is slowly healing, he gets IV antibiotics three times a day and takes a handful of pills several times a day too. He's doing remarkably well, considering what I saw in the hospital bed a coupla weks ago. 14:20... on the road back to Topeka, Karen driving and me riding and writing. I like being driven, I do, it's much nicer than driving.. 22:31... And I'm damned tard, too tard to work on any haikus. Shame, shame on me. O'yeah, and I apologize to those of you who were worried when there were no entries on Friday and Saturday, I guess that I kinda forgot to mention that I would be away...

Getting this all done finally. Been working on getting the PDA working, but that's not happening. We got home in good time, and unpacked the minimum necessary. It was a pleasant drive home, as most drives are with Karen, she is such a good traveling companion.
