Daily Nilknarf Haiku

Wispy breezes blow cold
On a bright spring day; the sun
betrays mild promise.

It's wonderful, knowing that I won't have to do any *real* work until 08:00 tomorrow.

This weekend has taken its' toll, but I did make a lot of money, which is the whole purpose, after all.

But right now, right now I'm just sitting here with my whisky and coke (decaffeinated diet, of course) and enjoying being here.

I didn't do a patient after 22:30 last night until about 03:30, and I went right back to sleep after that, until about 08:20. And the day started in earnest then, and I did one patient after another until about 14:45, when I got the C-PAP and personal stuff out of my room and went home... for about 20 minutes.

Did a coupla patients, and there was an abdomen/pelvis ordered from the ER, and that shoulda gone about 16:30, but the patient was really slow drinking her drink, didn't get done until about 16:20. We have to wait at least 45 minutes after that before we can do the exam, so I called my relief and she said that she would come in at 17:00. So I left.

I did do some interesting patients this weekend, though, some neat pathology. "Neat", of course, only if it isn't *your* pathology.

Thought really hard about going by Walgreens and getting another box of cigars, and then I talked myself out of it. I've got two cigars left, and I think that I'll go play some music and smoke them, and then I'm done. Uh, stop me if you've heard this before? Sorry, you can't stop me, can you. And yeah, I've said that many times, and every time I say, "This Time... this time I really *mean* it!" and you, wonderful you, you always believe me, and I always, *always* let you down. Except for that one time when I didn't let you down for nearly two years, heh. Yeah, I knew you'd remember that time. Thank you in advance for your kind thought and good vibes!

And I also said that I wasn't going to complain about being tard. Well, I'm not complaining, but I don't want it to go without notice that I *could* be complaining, had I not promised. But a promise is a PROMISE, after all.

I go in late (08:00) next week, and then I'm off on the weekend. Karen and I are going to KC to Lisa's wedding, should be a lot of fun.

And sometime or another, I've gotta get the taxes done, dammit.

Kim finally bought a new HD for Patrick's computer, I don't know if I'll get it in tonight or not, though, I might just go to bed instead.

Thanx for being here!
