Daily Nilknarf Haiku

The moon, cut in half
As by a knife, by the sun
Wonderful life, heh?

Eh, I should have gone to sleep before I wrote last night's entry.

Yeah, the wagon, it was fallen off of. My head, it was landed on.

Additionally, I increased my screen resolution and changed it to 1152X864. and now I can't read it without my glasses.

I'm gonna leave the entry as I wrote it, just so that, in times of doubt, I can go back and see how stupid I am. Heh, that'll learn me, won't it?

Pretty busy day at work today, I was in the scan room and my legs are killing me.

And I'm on call tonight, taking it for another tech, hoping to make some money.

I already *did* make some money, even though I wasn't officially on call... I got off on time, 16:30, but five minutes after I got home I got a call. There was a drainage procedure that needed doing, so I went on in.

Unfortunately, the patient had recently been on blood thinners, so we had to scratch it for tonight, we'll try again tomorrow if they can get the clotting factors back up.

And then I got a call about 20:00... the main scanner was down.

So what is this Friday Night Jinx that I have going with that damned machine? And it only seems to happen when I'm on call, none of my cohorts get hammered like this.

Anyway, if it's still down tomorrow, it puts the drainage procedure on hold, 'cause we'd tie up the room for 2-3 hours, and that won't work with the ER running full blast. Which they always do on Saturdays, it seems.

Tonight, while waiting for a call, I'm working on the computer that I got for Tyler. Trying to put an OS on it, and I got very frustrated with the thing, I couldn't get the machine to recognize it's CD/DVD drive. I finally took it apart and found that the cable has gotten loose during transit, I guess. Plugged it back in, then still having troubles. Every other time I've wanted to install W2K, I've just put the CD in and away it went... but not any more. It seems like I had the same problem with the computer that I'm giving Mike, JD's friend in Lawrence. He probably thinks that I've forgotten about him, but no, I haven't, I just haven't worked on it at all.

So when I get Tyler's machine figgered out, I will have Mike's figgered out too, I hope.

Nice day today, it was 65°F when I got off work the first time. Supposed to rain Sunday, though, and snow Monday, heh.

23:55
Just got back (again) from the hospital, did two patients. The main machine is working again, and I'm quite happy about that. So I'm gonna try to get some sleep, I hope that it works.

O'yeah, my spellchecker frequently locks up this machine, so I'm not using it. I seek your forgiveness for any and all mistakes.

Thanx for being here!
