Thursday, Friday and Saturday starting HERE!

Ah, home again, home again.

The roads weren't as bad as they said that they were, but we ran about 60-65 all the way anyway, the little truck doesn't handle all that well, and seems to have zilch for traction with the front wheels when doing curves. And not too much better with the rear wheels, come to think of it.

And we were getting passed by idiots doing 90-100 MPH. It was raining lightly, and the trees were coated with ice. Do these idiots just not have a clue at all?

I mean, rain freezing on the trees? Should make you at least think about rain... freezing on the road?

We left Enid at what, 10:00 or 11:00, drove through some pretty intense fog but we finally made it to Wichita. We spent a few minutes at Deb's and then went over to the rest home to collect the table.

That didn't take too long, since I had Ric helping me load up and cover and secure the table. then I had to stop for a fillup before we left town. I'd decided to take the El Dorado route recommended by Ric and Deb... Ric had showed me the map of Wichita and I saw how much sense that made, saves about 40 miles or so. And about $0.50 on the turnpike fee too. It's all four-lane, and I avoided it for years because it was two-lane and I didn't know that it was reconstructed, plus the fact that Karen's Mom was on 96 highway in Wichita for quite a while, so it was easy to hit her place on the way to Deb's.

I slept pretty good again last night and got up at first call, Mom was up around 08:30 I guess. I'm not really good with times early in the AMs, especially on my days off.

Right now, 18:01, it's sleeting out, kinda neat sound, a susseration in a silent world, muffled by... what? It would be muffled by snow, but there isn't any of that, yet. So I don't know, maybe by my mind? Yeah, I can do that... Karen and I just moved in the table. The deck is a sheet of ice, when we unloaded the car I would slide things to Karen and she would retrieve them at the door, worked really well.

Unloading the table was slightly different, though. We kinda slid it while we were hanging on to it. It's a drop-down, about two foot wide folded, and we've got a couple-three leaves, so it will set eight confortably. I haven't really looked at it hard enough yet to know if it needs refinishing, but I suspect that it does. It's walnut with a natural finish and varnish, I would use the natural finish with Deft or something easier than varish I would guess.

O'yeah, I didn't find the clip for the CPAP on the bed or on the floor in the bedroom, so I guess it's a trip to Apria for me in the morning, dammit.

And Andy and Matt have no power, ice got their power lines. Ours are still working, though, and the telephones and cable too.

And now, even though it's really nasty out, I really am hankering for some Chinese Buffet, so I think that we'll risk all and do that.

Thanx for being here!
