9:15 PM 1/23/04 Enid, Oklahoma Karen and I got up pretty early, I slept pretty good last night, surprising myself. Although I had my CPAP machine, I was missing a relatively critical part of the harness... I had left the machine laying on the bed yesterday, and I think that a cat must've been playing with it. It's a little clip that fits into the mask for the strap to fit into. I kinda wrapped the velcro around the nosepiece and it kinda worked. We set out for Enid about 11:00 and got here around 13:00 or so, after stopping for a chocolate malt at Braum's. We were kinda planning on meeting up with my old buddy Jesse at a bar tonight, but he was really tired, so we're meeting him and his lovely wife Brenda for breakfast in the morning. So we've been watching TV tonight, interesting watching TV at Mom's, only network stuff available. So, enough about me. Mom kinda said that I rerally shouldn't write mean and nasty things about BabyBush, but I just can't help myself. The government by the people, of the people and for the people is in jeopardy. We are in danger of becoming a plutocracy tainted with a theocratic stench. As part of the omnibus spending bill the the senate was forced(?) into approving yesterday in order to keep the government running, the white house had insisted that a bill affecting overtime labor rules. Essentially, the standard time-and-a-half for anything over 40 hours per week for all but professional and manegerial workers would no longer be in effect. This will affect 8 million workers. Eight million Americans have had the fair labor laws rolled back eighty years. Way to go, BabyBush, you sonovabitch. Have I mentioned that I make about a third of my wages on overtime? Additionally, yesterday there was an executive order issued that will cut EPA environmental measuring by eighty per cent. So, big business is getting big paybacks, heh. Not only can they go back to their slave-driving ways, they are free to generate their power and pollutants without any government influence. Way to go, BabyBush, you sonovabitch. OK, enough of that. For right now. Stay tuned. I've decided to cut this visit short by a day, storm moving into Kansas and I really don't want to be driving that little truck in bad weather. It's supposed to start Sunday but not get bad until Monday, so we'll leave early Sunday, I think. I'll keep up the with weather and see what happens. And it's gettin late, and I need to go to sleep.
