Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

I did get a good long sleep last night, and I enjoyed every minute of it. I woke up around 04:00 and thought about getting up, but with a mighty effort I suppressed that impulse and went back to sleep. Got up on time at 05:30.

Cold north wind. We didn't really get much snow last night, mostly rain and sleet. I decided to take the car today with its front-wheel drive and I had no problems. Well, once I'd spent ten minutes getting the frozen rain off of it, anyway. And I did have problems, of course, with jackasses who have no concept of inertia and slick streets. And jackasses that think that the best way to drive on slick streets is to go... five miles an hour. Well, that's OK if they want to do that, of course, AS LONG AS THEY STAY OUTTA MY WAY!

But they don't.

Anyways, work was pretty pud today, no inpatients to start out with, and we had blocked out the lunch hour so that we could have an inservice with a rep from a company that sells RF ablators.

Very interesting stuff. If you have a patient with a tumor, either primary or metastatic, who cannot undergo surgery for some reason or another, we insert this umbrella-like device into the tumor mass and heat it up to kill the tumor. This is, of course, done under CT guidance. We've only done one of these procedures, but it's an up-and-coming thing.

I got off at 15:00, since we didn't get a lunch, and I went to the auto parts place and got a coupla light bulbs, one of the headlights went out on the Camry, and the interior light burned out months ago. Came home and put them in, that didn't take too long.

Karen is not feeling too well today, dammit, I hope that she's not coming down with something, we've got a busy and fun weekend planned! But mostly, I just don't want her feeling badly, of course.

Well, I said weekend, but it's starting tonight for me... I'm off tomorrow and Friday. Tomorrow we'll go to Wichita and the come home Friday and then go to the bed-n-breakfast place north of here. It's gonna be fun, of course, only if Karen gets to feeling better.

I'm hoping that she's got what I had Monday... and it only lasted a few hours. I hope I hope I hope!

As I have mentioned, I'm really diggin' in on the music keyboard; tonight I drug out a lot of old music books that I've accumulated over the years, and I'm gleaning singable songs that I like, and there are quite a few. One of my favorites right now is Dylans' Lay Lady Lay from his Nashville Skyline album. I'm trying to figger out if I want to be a singer or just what it is that I might really, really want to be.

Anyway, I'm once again going to get to bed early so that I will have plenty of energy, because I'll need it either to have fun or take care of Karen. I hope that it's the former, of course.

Thanx for being here!
