Finally, a good sleep! I really don't *feel* that much better, but I can at least function. I made it to work on time today and made it through the day, but I have to admit that it was pretty hard; I was on my feet all day in the scanner room with the patients, so it was enjoyable yet fatiguing. I usually go to lunch about 12:30, and I got to the smoking area first and have a few puffs on my cigar, then I lay it down in a supposedly safe place. I did that today, but when I came back out after wolfing my lunch down, my damned cigar was gone. Pissed me off, it did. Not that there is anything that I can do about it, but it was a good cigar, and it was *MY* cigar, and some sonovabitch stole it. It's hard to not be paranoid in such a case, y'know? Is it somebody that doesn't *like* me, but they're too gutless to say so, so they throw away my cigar? Or is it the bag lady that comes by looking for long butts? Who in the world would want to smoke a cigar that I'd had in my mouth? Eccchhhh. Anyway, I had a meeting after lunch with my kindness connects group, the APC, and it was good, I think that we're making progress. We've passed our first milestone, anyway, and heading for some good things. After work, I went over to a coworker's house to tweak some stuff on his computer. It had just started raining as I left work, and we have snow predicted for tonight and tomorrow. And when I left, I got into a traffic jam! Yes! Right here in Topeka! I had to wait seven whole minutes to get across 17th and Fairlawn. Yeah, I've seen traffic jams. And yeah, that's only one of the reasons that I live in Topeka, heh. The other is that I'm too lazy to live anywhere else. Did some serious guitar practicing tonight. Getting good calluses on my fingers now. And I need some lessons, so I can progress to things that don't just come out of my head, which is stuck in the 60's. And suddenly, my solid-state amp is working, I think because of the lack of humidity in the basement. This gives me some clues as to what might be wrong. Unfortunately, my tube amp has almost completely dies, I still haven't replaced (or tested) the tubes on it yet. The cable guy came today, and sure enough, they had sent us a bad box. So the six hours that I spent fiddling around with it yesterday wasn't my fault at all, the bastards. I'm sure that I had it hooked up the right way the very damned first time that I turned it on. If you sense a slight bit of hostility at the cable company, you're right on target. Just a tad little teeny weeny bit of red hot anger, that's all it is. Anyway, now that we've got it working, it's great. Lots and lots of channels, and lots and lots of music channels. And I think that I'll go strum a little more before I go to bed.
