Natterings, Notions

Notes

18:49 11/23/2003...
Not a happy camper. Not at all.

I was doing patients until about 03:00, then I slept poorly until about 06:00. Laid there trying to go back to sleep until the beeper went off at 07:00. Got some coffee and went downstairs to do my first patient.

I actually did two, then nothing. Went home about 09:30 or so, and I didn't get called back until just before noon, I think that it was.

Did a coupla patients, and the ER doc advised me that he had two more, at least, to do.

And then the main machine went down. I re-booted it at least five times, then gave up and went over to the Z. Hate that machine, just hate it. It is *so* not an adequate back-up system.

Luckily, I was able to get ahold on one of the engineers, and he came in to look at the CT, and it is completely out of service until parts come in. Probably tomorrow morning, the way it looks.

I have mentioned before how much I hate working on the Z, but that was mostly when there are four people working. With one it's damned near impossible to get anything done.

And it's a long ways over there and back, too. Meaning, of course, that the legs are fried. And so are the feet, now that I think about it.

And the back, too. I'd rather *not* think about that. It's impossible to get help moving patients over there.

And the nurse doing the transporting was about 5 foot oh, and weighed maybe 86 pounds.

Thanx for being here!
