Well, I guess that I should start off from where I left off about 1.5 hours ago, heh?

Got in trouble with a doc who wouldn't answer his pages. I finally figgered out that the phones in CT must not be working, although they appear to be. I went to the workroom in X-ray and paged him there, using the speaker phone. Unfortunately, I didn't turn the speaker off, so the line was busy. I didn't notice that until later. Finally, I called the other hospital and they said that he was home, they'd just talked to him. Not knowing that he even had his pager on, I called him at home. Big mistake, he didn't like that at all.

O'well. If that's the worst thing that I do, it'll still be an OK day....

Quite right now, so I'm gonna try to get some shut-eye.

Long, long day. Started off OK, though, I slept from about 02:00 until 08:30 or so before I got called.

And I was very busy all day long. Most of my problem patients were inpatients, and the main problem there was getting them downstairs, transportation was *way* backed up all day.

About 20:30 I saw a clear place, so I took a chance and went home. Got a really nice leg-and-back rub, then took a shower. I heard the pager go off while I was showering, so I dried off and went back to work smelling better at least.

I've only done the one patient since I've been back, and the ER is looking kinda quiet, but of course that is subject to change on a very rapid basis... anyway, I'm thinking about just going to sleep right now.

The problem with going to sleep is... it's not my bed, my comfy cozy waterbed. It's a damned hospital bed, that's what it is, and a worn-out one that's not good enough for our patients any more, heh. But it's much better than no bed at all, at all.

Thanx for being here!
