Read the paper and saw a nice corner computer desk on sale at Office Max that I thought Karen might like. I was planning on going out to Sam's anyway to get coffee and oatmeal, so I thought that we'd go by there and see what she thought of it.

I started off watching the Chief's game all alone, but Karen got home in the second quarter and we watched what happens to the Chiefs when you take their fast little return man out of the game. The bengals played well on both sides of the ball, and KC didn't get any breaks. Well, that stands to reason, 'cause you don't get breaks, the other team messes up. And you don't. That's the rule in almost every sport that there is.

Anyway, it was kinda disappointing to see them lose that streak. Maybe they'll start working harder on their game now that they realize that yes, they can lose. Just by not being inspired.

So after the game we went to Sam's and then to OfficeMax, and Karen didn't really like the desk, or any of the other ones that they had displayed there, she wants me to build her one. So I guess that's what I'll do, then.

When we got home, Matt and Brian were raking leaves, and we helped them do the bagging until about dark, or at least Karen did. After about a half-hour my back started complaining, so I quit. Don't want to do that to my back, no, not me, not again.

So I spent a little time playing music, then I came up to do something about the 150 unread e-mails. Got everything read, anyway, but nothing answered. I'm not really very good at answering e-mail, I can't just dash off something and call it good, much as I'd like to. No, I've gotta think about everything that I write. Well, except for here, of course, no thinking going on in *these* pages, no sir!

I had thought, last night, about going over to see Jody at the Den, but I decided not to, since Karen wasn't going to be there to drive me home. I could've just not drank any beer, but when everyone else is....

And Monday is coming up fast. I'm the late guy this week, plus I'm on call this coming weekend, and I'll probably take the whole weekend, 'cause the $$ are needed. Well, maybe I can get someone to take Saturday night, that would be nice. But I doubt if I'll get any volunteers.
