Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

O'man.

This day has conspired to make me feel bad, and it has come damned close to doing that.

Heh. But I fooled 'em, I fooled 'em all!

I feel great! Everyone else's problems are *not* my problems. I just won't buy into that at all.

I will do my best to fix their problems, yes I will, 'cause that's the way that I was made. But still. Not my problems.

Well, in a way they are.

Because trying to solve the world's problems is... tiring.

Therefore, I am tired.

But I have Jack Black to comfort me, I do.

Yeah, I know, Jack is not too discriminatory about who he comforts and who he kills, it's all the same to him. Yeah, I'm right careful about that, I am.

I do need to mention that we're a tech short. That makes a killer out of a regular day, it does.

Anyhoo, everyone that I talked to or had any interaction with today, with the exception of most of my coworkers, had something *special* that they needed from me. And I was happy to offer them whatever help I could. But the requests kept piling up and piling up and I finally mentally cut it off. My brain was full, come back with your stupid (sorry) request on Monday, please.

The final straw... I was printing a bunch (a BIG bunch) of films for surgery on Monday. Yeah, they have Synapse( the PACS system) in surgery, but gee whiz, the docs like to look at "real" films. So I'm answering two phones in the midst of this, and the default number of frames for printing is one-one-one. And we have like a hundred images per case. So I accidentally printed about 98 films one-on-one for the first case that I was printing. Which ran the printer out of film, for one thing, and then obviated everything that I did after that (six more cases). And a hundred sheets of wasted film costs about $250 or so. My time that I spent re-doing all that work cost considerable less, of course. But still expensive. And frustrating as hell, it is.

And a thousand kids coming to the door asking for candy to rot their little teeth out of their stupid heads? Priceless.

I have made a vow to sleep, sleep, sleep. I was planning on at least getting my email read... I haven't caught up since Journalcon, y'know... before I hit the sack, but maybe I'll start early. Burrow into the waterbed, the wonderful waterbed.

In the meantime, Karen is gone, over to Matt's, she made some of her Fameous Salsa for his party tonight... and she made some for me to take to work today. It was, as usual, well recieved.

However, I have been left to greet the kids, and that's working out OK. I put on my cowboy hat and give out the treats. Kinda fun, heh.

Ah, that was an understatement, it's *really* fun.

And tomorrow it's November. Time. I f*&@&$g hate it. Makes me old, and those that I love? it makes them old, too, dammit. Those that it doesn't make dead.

Thanx for being here!
